How You Can Help...

Make a donation now

We are grateful for any donations, large, small or in-between.

Why donate?

It takes £1,000 per year to look after each monkey.

The biggest costs are heating, specialised veterinary care, medical costs, yearly tests and regular check-ups every few months. Then there’s legal documentation, licences and certificates, as well as, insurance costs. Not to mention the feeding and cleaning! Primates have special dietary requirements and have to be fed 2 or 3 times per day to cut down on waste and decrease boredom. A bored monkey is an aggressive monkey!

What your money can buy

  • £5 buys a metre of rope
    • An active monkey is a happy monkey. Rope gives them exercise as well as entertainment, but they use it so much, it wears out.
  • £10 buys 2 boxes of meal worms and 2 boxes of locusts
    • The monkeys love them and they are packed full of essential vitamins, honestly!
  • £25 buys a 12 kilo sack of primate pellets
    • This will last approximately one month.
  • £50 would feed 12 monkeys
    • This would last 4 days
  • £100 buys 8 bales of shavings for night quarters
    • This will last eight weeks.
  • £2,000 pays the gas and electricity bill for 6 months
    • Some rescued monkeys come to the Sanctuary with tails and fingers missing from frostbite

  • Locks, padlocks and keys
  • Rope, fire hoses and ladders

How to leave a legacy

We are totally reliant on the generosity of kind donors like you. Leaving a legacy or bequest to Lakeview Monkey Sanctuary will help us to provide refuge for our ever-growing colony of monkeys rescued from neglect and abuse. We can assure you that every gift will make a real difference protecting primates in our care. If you feel comfortable, please complete the pledge form for the simple reason it really helps for us to know about potential gifts.

  • If you have already made a Will, but would like to leave a gift to Lakeview Monkey Sanctuary, you can do so by making a simple addition to your existing Will, called a codicil. By adding this supplement to your Will you can include new instructions and delete old ones without having to go through the task of revoking the whole Will.
  • If you have not already made a Will, you may need to see a solicitor. Although you will have to pay a fee, you will receive sound professional advice and can be sure that your wishes are achieved.

If you would like to talk to us about leaving a lasting gift to Lakeview Monkey Sanctuary in your Will or would like more information please contact us at info@lakeviewmonkeysanctuary.co.uk or call 07748 195593.
